The Black Hawk Down Incident

In October of 1993, the US military attempted to use helicopters to conduct a raid in Somalia to capture two wanted militants. However, what was initially planned to be a quick 1 hour in-and-out mission turned into a brutal 17 hour-long battle after three of the American helicopters participating in the raid were shot down.
