Conan and Ran are at the studio of Kasuga Ryuji the artist. Kasuga approached Ran in front of a department store while she was out shopping, and she has been working part time as his model. Kasuga’s assistant Rokui Riko and his apprentice Komiyama Yoshio are at the studio as well. When Conan sees something shining unnaturally outside the window, he goes into the yard to investigate, where he learns something from the gardener…
